I’ll start by saying how thankful I am to have met Aarti Sequeira through our church at a women’s retreat in October 2021. She is a truly comforting and warm presence that everyone needs to experience at some point in their lives. Lucky for you, you can catch her on several different cooking shows on Food Network (like her show Aarti Party, Guy’s Grocery Games, and Holiday Wars) to get a glimpse of her sweet soul! I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her to celebrate the release of her Family Recipe Journal. She created this in partnership with Dayspring. Ya’ll, I’m pretty sure I said yes before she could even get the words out of her mouth.
Aarti’s deep history with food began when she was a child. She drew inspiration for her family recipe journal from this lovingly worn red recipe book pictured above. She collected recipes throughout her life in this book, and her heart behind providing an heirloom journal for families to record their favorite recipes in together stemmed from it.
I’m almost positive I didn’t stop smiling the entire time we were shooting in her home. Aarti’s grin is infectious and the way she makes you feel both at ease and cared for when she’s around is just the best. Saying I’m glad I had the opportunity to photograph her is a ridiculous understatement. I’m so thankful to call her a friend!
I’d also like to mention this gal slid onto the cover of Dayspring’s Everyday Faith Magazine to celebrate her Family Recipe Journal release. And guess what? Yours truly also photographed Aarti for that! If you need a copy, I’ve got you covered (get it?). Check it out!
